Juan was one of thousands of guitarists from across the U.S., Canada and abroad that sent his music to the Guitar Player office. Guitar Player magazine explains, “Ten transcendent talents were chosen by the GP staff to battle it out in Cleveland in front of a live audience, our celebrity judges, and world-wide Webcast viewers.” As one of these select ten, Juan says, “I am very proud to represent Canada and Colombia in this event.” Since moving to Ontario, Canada from his native country Colombia almost two years ago, Juan has been working very hard to build a career doing what he loves best – making music. “Having a chance to play in Cleveland’s famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in front of guitar legends such as Joe Satriani and Steve Lukather is a dream come true. I am truly honoured to have been selected,” Juan says. Over the course of his career in Colombia, Juan released several albums, penned a number one radio hit, and played to large audiences. Now in Canada, Juan continues to explore new musical territory. His upcoming solo album, Renewal, features an innovative blend of Latin rhythms and instrumental rock guitar.
